In 1957, Robert Murphy and John Hirschfield founded H&M Equipment Co., Inc. Their goals were to provide quality products and create a strong reputation of honesty and fairness. Later Robert's three sons, David, Tim, and Terry became involved in the firm. As the demand for more and modern farm products grew so did the business.

In 1988, David and Lois Murphy became the owners with their sons, Bill, Mark, and Rodney. As the customers needs changed, so too did H&M Equipment.

Today the company features a wide selection of light industrial, farm, and garden equipment, with a full service and parts department. H&M Equipment introduced a rental division complete with a wide range of construction equipment including  motor graders, telehandlers, skid steers, backhoes, excavators, and many other items to better serve their customers.
